Ожидается, что в XXI веке рак станет основной причиной смерти и единственным наиболее важным препятствием для увеличения продолжительности жизни в каждой стране мира. Одной из основных проблем в оценке заболеваемости и смертности от рака является использование различающихся методик и моделей, которые не позволяют с требуемой достоверностью проводить сравнения, например, между группами населения или в одной группе в течение времени. Единая база статистики рака GLOBOCAN 2018, созданная и распространенная Международным агентством по исследованию рака (IARC) удовлетворяет в значительной мере потребность исследователей в использовании схожих методов и моделей для разных групп населения для получения сопоставимых показателей в исследованиях рака. Методы, используемые в GLOBOCAN 2018, можно отнести к статистическим моделям повышенной гибкости. Использование методов и моделей GLOBOCAN 2018 для статистики рака в Республике Саха (Якутия) может открыть ряд дополнительных возможностей для установления особенностей заболеваемости и смертности от рака в национальном регионе. Поэтому целью публикуемого исследования явилось установление источников данных и изучение методов и моделей использованных в GLOBOCAN 2018 для Российской Федерации.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Cancer incidence and mortality is rising rapidly around the world. In the 21st century, cancer is expected to become the main cause of death and the single most important obstacle to increasing life expectancy in every country. One of the main problems in assessing cancer incidence and mortality is the use of different methods and models that fail to provide the required accuracy to make comparisons, for example, between groups of the population or in the same group in time. Created and distributed by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the cancer statistics database GLOBOCAN 2018 largely meets the researchers need in using similar methods and models for different population groups to obtain comparable indicators in cancer research. The methods used in GLOBOCAN 2018 can be attributed to statistical models of increased flexibility. The use of methods and models of GLOBOCAN 2018 for cancer statistics in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) can open up additional possibilities for determining the characteristics of cancer incidence and mortality in the region.
